Claudia Malhado a new project entitled "Conservation with Innovation and Art: New Horizons for Seeing the Sea" approved in January 2023. The project is funded by Brazil's National Council for Scientific and Technological Development under the call for Citizen Science and Scientific Dissemination: Science at Sea Program, Antarctic Science, and National Actions Addressed to the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.

The project "Mar à vista!" ("Seeing the Sea") was approved to work on important themes of the decade of the oceans. Mar à vista! is a project that develops a series of cartoons focused on raising environmental awareness about the coastal marine environment among children. The project is coordinated by the Federal University of Alagoas in close collaboration with Tropibio and many other partners.

The project's goal is to broaden the scope and impact of environmental awareness and scientific dissemination in order to promote knowledge democratisation among the general public, providing Brazilian society with engagement in the sustainable development of the oceans, strengthening the cultural identity of coastal communities, valuing the country's marine-coastal conservation units, and increasing knowledge and awareness about sea science. The project involves face-to-face activities, a new cartoon season for the Decade of the Oceans, podcasts,  and the development of booklets for children.
