Ana M. Santos and Sonia Llorente-Culebras from Spain visited CIBIO.

Researcher Dr Ana Margarida (Guida) Santos and her PhD Student, Sonia Llorente-Culebras, both from the Terrestrial Ecology Group (TEG-UAM), Ecology Department Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain, visited CIBIO and met with the Tropibio team to discuss research and collaborations between the 26th to 28th of April, 2022.

The aim with this visit was: (1) to work on a new collaborative research project for assessing research trends in protected areas; (2) to define next steps for Sonia´s PhD chapters within an African context, and; (3) to move forward research on the representation of woman in biogeography. Guida and Sonia each presented a seminar and also discussed additional ideas and projects with other members of the TROPIBIO team. Further meetings are being planned and Sonia will be visiting CIBIO for a longer period later in the year.
