ERA Chair Board meetings

On the 16th of May Richard Ladle had an online meeting with the head of the Tropical Biology Association (TBA), Professor Rosie Trevelyan, to discuss her participation on the ERA Chair Board and forthcoming collaborations between Tropibio and the TBA. The TBA has extensive experience of running training courses in Africa and their participation in the forthcoming Tropibio field courses (planned for 2023/24) would ensure the highest possible level of training. 

On the 17th of May Richard Ladle had an online meeting with Professor Jorge Palmeirim of the University of Lisbon. Professor Palmeirim has enormous experience of working in Portuguese-speaking Africa and has kindly agreed to be on the ERA Chair steering committee. Among the topics discussed were funding opportunities for tropical research in Portugal, future research collaborations and future reciprocal visits between the Tropibio team and Professor Palmeirim's group.
