Richard Ladle visited Madrid for Collaborative Meeting and Research Discussions

News

Richard Ladle travelled to Madrid, Spain, on May 24th for a meeting with Tropibio collaborator, Dr. Joaquín Hortal, at the Natural History Museum. The purpose of this trip was to discuss ongoing research projects and grant applications

During the visit, Ladle and Dr. Hortal delved into various topics, including the application of Maps of Biogeographical Ignorance to Tropibio's focal countries in Africa. Additionally, they finalized a manuscript that focuses on the impact of taxonomic uncertainty on global estimates of unknown species. Furthermore, the two researchers continued planning for future workshops and articles on shortfalls in global biodiversity data.

Richard also met with Guida Santos and their (co-supervised) PhD student Sonia Llorente-Culebras at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid to plan Sonia´s remaining PhD chapters.
