Tropibio ERA Chair Board Complete and Fully Functioning
The Tropibio ERA Chair board, responsible for guiding the strategic direction and overseeing the progress of the project, is now complete and fully functioning. Following some changes during 2021, the board has been reorganized under the leadership of Richard Ladle. The current composition of the ERA Chair board is as follows:
- Professor Pedro Beja: Director of CIBIO and Tropibio Coordinator
- Professor Jorge Palmeirim: University of Lisbon, Portugal, representing a top Portuguese research institution. With extensive experience in Portuguese-speaking Africa, Professor Palmeirim also possesses a comprehensive understanding of the scientific funding landscape in Portugal.
- Professor Rosie Trevelyan: Director of the Tropical Biology Association (TBA), serving as a representative from a conservation and sustainable development organization. Professor Trevelyan has worked extensively in Africa and specializes in providing training courses and capacity building in the field of conservation.
- Professor Dan Brockington: Research Professor at ICTA, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and co-Director of the Institute for Global Sustainable Development in Sheffield, UK. Professor Brockington has conducted extensive research in Africa, focusing on rural resource management, livelihood change, and conservation. With his experience as an ERC project holder for Conservation Data Justice (CONDJUST), he brings valuable expertise in working with the European Commission and managing complex projects.
