News
Tropibio´s first expedition to Angola – Namba Mountains 2021

When: 2021 September 1st to 10th
Tropibio team: Pedro Vaz Pinto,  Kerllen Costa
Objectives: The Namba mountains have remained as one of the last strongholds, possibly the most important, for Angolan Afromontane forests. The objective of this expedition was to open up the way to the Afromontane forests of the Namba mountains - finding routes and areas for base camps for future long-term expeditions. This expedition was designed as a reconnaissance trip in preparation for a bigger interdisciplinary future expedition.

Main camping site used for this expedition. Tents were placed under the shade of miombo trees, next to large granite outcrops and the dirt road that services the farm. Stream runs along line of trees at left.
