Tropical Biology Association Members Visit Tropibio to Co-Organize Fieldwork Course
News
The Tropical Biology Association (TBA) members, Mariana Carvalho and Rosie Trevelyan, visited Tropibio in February to co-organize the Tropibio fieldwork course aimed at training 20 students from the PALOP and CIBIO for two weeks in October 2023.
The course will be conducted in Djalicunda, at the KAFO facilities in Guinea-Bissau. During the visit, they also organized a round table to discuss decolonizing in ecology and Tropibio deliverables.
On the first day of their visit, the TBA members held meetings in the afternoon to discuss the progress of Tropibio and the overall structure of the field course. The second day involved further discussions about the detailed structure of the course, associated logistics, and further steps in the morning, followed by the roundtable in the afternoon.
The TBA members' visit was crucial to the success of Tropibio's fieldwork course, which aims to provide students with the necessary skills and experience to excel in the field of tropical biology. Rosie Trevelyan, who is part of the Tropibio board, also took advantage of her visit to discuss the project's progress. The Tropibio team is looking forward to continuing their collaboration with the TBA in the future.
