Second Marie Curie Post-doctoral fellowship training Webinars delivered in June 2022 as part of the TROPIBIO EU-Africa Cooperation Series - Marie Curie fellowships.
The second round of the TROPIBIO Webinar and training in this series was given on the 2nd of June 2022, with the main objective to assist early career researchers in Africa and CIBIO-BIOPOLIS researchers (and other linked researchers) to apply for post-doctoral opportunities in Europe linked to research in Africa (e.g., the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships). Two linked sessions/webinars were organized:
Webinar 1: A Webinar in English aimed at African researchers interested in applying for a Marie Curie fellowship. The Webinar focused on preparing and improving MSCA applications to ensure the maximum probability of success.

Webinar 2: A Webinar in Portuguese aimed at researchers and students from Lusophone Africa. This webinar began with an introduction to BIOPOLIS/CIBIO’s TROPIBIO project and outlined different ways that African Lusophone researchers can collaborate or contribute. This was followed by an overview of the MSCA fellowships and outlined the key steps in preparing a proposal.

Of the 50 participants, 36.1% had Brazilian nationality, 30.6% were Portuguese, 13.9% Angolan, 5.6% Cape Verdean/Portuguese, 5 .6% Italian, and Swedish, Cape Verdean and Cameroonian with 2.8% each.
The country of residence of the registered participants were: 41.7% lived in Portugal, 36.1% in Brazil, 11.1% in Angola, 5.6% in Cape Verde, 2 .8% in Spain and 2.8% in Israel.
Among the Institutions to which the participants are affiliated were: Federal University of Minas Gerais, Federal University of Pernambuco, Federal University of Alagoas and State University of Alagoas, all from Brazil. From African institutions: Angola National Commission for UNESCO, Mandume Ya Ndemufayo University, Lubango, Angola, Atlantic Technical University. From Portuguese institutions: CESAM - Center for Environmental and Sea Studies, University of Porto, University of Lisbon.
