In the age of smartphones and information technology, social media content is an emerging source of data for conservation ecology, providing new insights about species distributions, their phenology and behaviour, to identify species and landscapes that arouse public interest among many other applications. At the roundtable on the Potential of social media for Conservation Ecology, the expert panel will discuss these and other topics related to the use of technology for species conservation.
